Methods

“I focus on creating a teaching program individualized to each student. I teach violin using both the Suzuki and Royal Conservatory repertoire programs; however, all programs are supplemented with additional music depending on the interests and specific technical needs of each student. For harp students, the program of study varies depending on the size of harp and whether the student prefers classical, celtic, or popular music. I also provide my own arrangements of pieces as needed.

For all instruments, I place emphasis on both sight-reading and ear-training. All students are provided a solid grounding in technical skills through scales, studies, and technical exercises. I encourage performing as an important aspect of music training by providing multiple opportunities for students to demonstrate their development each year.”
